Matthew 9:1-8
1 Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to his own town.
2 Some men brought to him a paralyzed man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.”
3 At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, “This fellow is blaspheming!”
4 Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts?
5 Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’?
6 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “Get up, take your mat and go home.”
7 Then the man got up and went home.
8 When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to man.
My love,
I, the Lord Jesus, speak to you. Write it down.
Many people of the world live their lives with disbelief about me.
Will I grant the wishes of the wicked and hard people who do not have faith in me?
On the other hand, will I not grant the wishes of those who have strong faith in me?
I said, “May it be done according to your faith.”
It’s all about the heart.
I fully know their wicked hearts; they are outside my domain.
“Your sins have been forgiven.”
How great a statement this is!
It means that I absolve all of your sins through salvation and bless you by taking you to Heaven.
I also said, “Get up and walk.”
Now that your sins are forgiven, your ill bodies will get up; your feeble minds will get up, and your love for me will arise and walk about.
All these things reveal the power of the Messiah. Those who have ears to hear realize and they are deeply thankful.
I am the Messiah who saves lives and my authority soars and pierces the sky.
Then will I not have the authority to forgive sins?
They see and judge me only from a human standpoint. So their small hearts do not understand my words.
Truly, when you see anything, do not see and judge it with human eyes. But see and think about it, whatever it is, with my eyes. If you think, being conscious of me, I will certainly show you the truth clearly. So you will realize.
Also, acknowledge my authority.
I truly am the Christ who saves you.
Those who acknowledge me will truly be able to give glory to God.
